Public-Private Partnership in the Restructuring of Education in Oyo State, Nigeria

Abstract

This paper examined the impact of Public-Private Partnership on Education Restructuring in Oyo State. Primary method of data collection was adopted in which 180 respondents from six Tertiary institutions (three publics and three private) in Oyo State were used. Simple percentage and chi-square analytical methods were used to analyze the result. The findings revealed that public-private partnership is an instrument to sustainable education restructuring in Oyo State. The result of the findings shows that due to the Public-Private partnership, infrastructural facilities and teaching aids in Oyo State, educational system has improved. It is therefore recommended that government should partner with international stakeholders to provide the resources for the various structures required by schools. Government should adequately fund education sector so that unnecessary fighting for resources does not spill over to the public eye as this destroys the confidence that parents and students have on the education system.
