Abstract

This study investigated the effectiveness of funding mode on pupils' participation on aspects of Enrolment, Retention and Academic Performance (ERAP) in public primary schools of Kakamega County, Kenya. The study period covering 24 years from 1995 to 2018 was divided into 3 periods of 8 years each. The study was based on 82 (30%) out of the 273 schools in 4 sub-counties of Kakamega County: Lurambi (20),Shinyalu (24), Mumias East (18) and Navakholo (20). The study used 414 respondents stratified into 82 Head Teachers, 164 Teachers, 164 Pupils and 4 Sub-County Directors of Education.
