Abstract

To promote quality teaching and learning, higher educational institutions are working tirelessly towards achieving safe and secured environment. However not enough is known of students' experiences and perception on safety and security on campus. The paper studied students' perception of campus safety and security at the Accra Technical University (ATU). It actually aimed at assessing students' perception about campus safety and security and the extent to which students are satisfied with campus safety and security. The study adopted a descriptive research design involving both qualitative and quantitative research approaches. Questionnaires were used to collect the data from the 432 students who were conveniently sampled. Deploying descriptive and inferential statistical analyses, the study found out that students were generally dissatisfied with campus safety and security at ATU.
