Abstract

We report a peculiar and very uncommon behavior during fry delivery by female ‘Red Swordtail' fish, Xiphophorous helleri, as observed in aquarium. It is a completely new finding; and we may suggest this behavior as ‘post-natal (maternal type) parental care'.
