Abstract
Inordertoassessthestaticanddynamic responseofanAFTpropellerofContrarotatingpropeller(CRP)forentirerangeofitsoperation,ananalysiswascarriedoutbyFEM(FiniteElementMethod)andvalidatedbyanalyticalapproach.FromtheStaticanalysisitisfoundthatthestressanddeflectionarewellwithinsafelimits.Theelasticdeformationaresosmall,thattheywon'taffecthydrodynamicloaddistribution..ThedynamicanalysesofCRPindicatethatitissafeinitsentire rangeofoperationasfarasphenomenonofResonanceisconcerned.Alsoitwasobservedthatmaximumharmonicresponseofthepropellerontheapplicationofdynamicloadingisfarlesserthanitsfailurelimit withinspecifiedoperatingrange.
