Work Values and Job Commitment Level of Workers in Selected Organization in South West Nigeria

Abstract

Values are the important keys that motivate individuals to seek certain occupations or working environments and be committed to it. Work value and job commitment are one of the key factors that help organization achieve her goals and objectives. The aim of this study is to assess work value correlate of job commitment level of workers in selected organizations in South West Nigeria. The study adopted a descriptive survey design, and primary data was used. The sample for the study consisted 207 workers purposively selected in organizations in South West Nigeria and was collected using questionnaire. Data collected were analyzed with Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) and Pearson Moment Correlations (Pearson r). Result of this study revealed that Prestige Value, Security Value, Economic/Material Value, Achievement Value, Power/Leadership Value will significantly correlate with Job Commitment.
