Abstract

The issue of insurgence has become a hot topic of discussion for more than a decade in north-eastern part of Nigeria particularly, in Borno and Yobe states. Terrorist activities have been a great challenge to almost every aspects of human development in the areas. This paper entitled ‘The courses and effects of Terrorist activities among youth in Yobe state, Nigeria (a case study of some selected local government areas)' employs doctrinal and questionnaire methods to examine the problems. It analyses the causes and effects of terrorism from the data obtained. The aim and objectives of this paper are to study the courses and effects of terrorist activities in the six (6) selected local government areas. The paper utilizes relevant materials form primary and secondary sources of data which include libraries, online etc. Findings of the paper demonstrate the degree of terrorist activities in many aspects of human life in the state. And it will be immense benefits in educating the concern people. It can also be served as the source of knowledge for researchers and students. Finally it recommends so many measures to be taken for minimizing the negative level of terrorist activities in the state.
