Abstract

Financial inclusion has been considered as a prerequisite to economic development both national as well as international context, even in social exclusion. Many studies have highlighted the SACCO initiatives on financial inclusion. This current study has highlighted access and usage of financial products by low income earners and the socially excluded via SACCOs from Kenyan perspective. This study continues with three objectives: geographical coverage of SACCOs; cost and contribution of SASRA regulations. With the help of descriptive research three SACCOs in Meru town. 43 questionnaires have been administered. Both quantitative as well as qualitative analysis have been adopted from analysis purpose.
