Organizational Citizenship Behavior and its Causes: Does Personality Make a Difference?

Abstract

Advances in research have shown that organizational commitment and job satisfaction have a positive effect on organizational citizenship behavior, and turnover intentions are negatively affected by citizenship behavior. However, this research raises the question that those findings could be available regardless of employees' personality type. To resolve the question, we divideda sample of 214 respondents into four groups according to personality profile (I type, Etype, Dtype, & Rtype), and conducted multiple regression analyses. The results imply that the causal relationships are consistent with the findings of recent studies when the sample is not divided, but the relationships have
